Privacy Policy
How Upturn Alliance collects, uses, shares and protects the information you give us when you request a consultation or work with us.
Last updated: January 1, 2026On this page
1. Who we are
Upturn Alliance ("Upturn Alliance," "we," "us," or "our") is an independent business consulting firm operating this website. This policy explains what we do with the information you provide through this website, by phone, by email, or by text message, and applies to visitors, prospective clients and clients.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details — your name, company name, mobile phone number and email address.
- Consultation request details — your company size, the area you want help with, and anything you write in the message field.
- Consent records — which text message programs you chose yes or no for, together with the date, time, page and exact wording shown to you at the time.
- Engagement information — if you become a client, the business documents, figures and other materials you share with us so we can do the work.
- Communications — records of your calls, emails and text messages with us.
Information collected automatically
- Device and browser type, operating system and general location inferred from your IP address.
- Pages you view on this site, the referring page, and how long you spend on the site.
3. How we use your information
- Respond to your consultation request and schedule your intro call.
- Prepare a written scope, deliver the engagement, and support you afterwards.
- Contact you by phone and email about your request, and — only for the programs you said yes to — by text message.
- Improve our website and services and measure how our marketing performs.
- Keep records, prevent fraud, and comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
4. How we share your information
We share your information only in these situations:
- Service providers. Vendors who host our site, run our CRM, deliver our email and text messages, and provide analytics — acting on our instructions, under contract, and with no right to use your information for their own purposes.
- Legal and safety. Where required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights, our clients, or the public.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets.
- With your permission. Anything else — for example naming you as a client — only if you tell us in writing that we may.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes.
5. Text messages and mobile information
No mobile information will be sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties. The only party who receives your mobile number is the messaging service provider that delivers our messages on our behalf, and it may not use that number for any other purpose.
Text messaging is entirely optional and is collected as a single checkbox on our consultation form, covering customer-care and marketing messages. It is never pre-selected. Leaving it unchecked means we will not text you, and it has no effect on your request, the service you receive, or the fees you are quoted. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase or service.
If you opt in, message frequency varies (typically up to 4 messages per month) and message and data rates may apply. You can withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by emailing or calling us. Reply HELP for help. Full details are in our SMS terms in our Terms & Conditions.
6. Phone and email contact
By submitting the consultation form you consent to be contacted by Upturn Alliance at the phone number and email address you provide, about the request you made. You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time and we will.
7. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember your preferences, and understand aggregate traffic patterns. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings; parts of the site may not work as well if you do. There is no common standard for responding to browser "Do Not Track" signals, so we do not currently respond to them.
8. Retention and security
We keep your information for as long as needed to provide our services and to meet legal, tax and recordkeeping obligations, then delete or de-identify it. Consent records are kept for at least four years so that an opt-in can be verified if a carrier or regulator asks. We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards — including access controls and encryption in transit — designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Client confidentiality
Information you share with us during an engagement is treated as confidential. Every engagement is covered by a mutual confidentiality agreement, and we are happy to sign yours instead of ours. We do not disclose client names, figures or findings publicly without written permission, and any example used on this site is an anonymised composite.
10. Your choices and rights
- Access, correction and deletion. You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to our legal obligations.
- Marketing. Unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any message; stop text messages by replying STOP.
- State privacy rights. Residents of California and other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have additional rights, including the right to know what we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of certain sharing. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email gjohnson@upturnalliance.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
11. Children's privacy
This site and our services are intended for business owners and operators and are not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and material changes will be highlighted on the site.
